Kunal Nayyar (Big Bang Theory) discusses diversity in STEM with Angeline Dukes, founder and current president of Black In Neuro. Angeline Dukes is the founder and current President of Black In Neuro. She is the daughter of Haitian and Trinidadian immigrants and a first-generation college graduate. She earned her Bachelor's degree (2017) from the Historically Black College/University, Fisk University, and her Masters degree (2021) from the University of California, Irvine. As a current addiction neuroscientist and PhD candidate, she is acutely aware of the general lack of representation and support for Black scholars in the field. She founded Black In Neuro with the hope of amplifying and creating a community for Black academics, clinicians, science communicators, and other scholars doing neuroscience-related work all around the world. BlackInNeuro.com boasts a database of hundreds of Black scholars in neuroscience-related fields at various career stages who are willing to inspire and mentor the next generation.
